CURVED

A curved staircase does what no straight run can: it turns the act of moving between floors into a single continuous gesture. Our Curved collection takes its cue from classical villa architecture — gently curved stringers, a handrail that flows without interruption, geometry that reads as effortless because nothing about it was left to chance. Each commission is drawn by hand, then modelled in three dimensions, with revisions free until you approve. One Toronto studio carries the work from first sketch to final fitting: design, in-house forging, and an installation completed in three to seven days. Only a handful of commissions move through the studio at once, so nothing about the work is hurried. What we build is solid, and it is built to be walked for generations.

A curved stair is the most exacting geometry we build. The stringers follow a sweeping radius rather than a straight line, so every riser meets its neighbour at a slightly different angle, and the handrail must rise and turn at once — a compound curve that cannot be bought off a shelf. We resolve it the traditional way: hand drawings first, then a full 3D model of your stair in your space, refined without charge until you approve. The structure is forged in our own shop, where curved stringers and balustrade are fitted together before they ever leave the floor. That rehearsal is why installation in your home takes only three to seven days, and why the curve lands exactly where the model said it would.

The Curved collection pairs three materials with long classical pedigrees. Honduran mahogany — the traditional banister wood — has a silken close grain that follows a curve willingly; it deepens gracefully with time and polishes to a mirror-like sheen, which is precisely what a flowing handrail asks for. Solid brass balustrades are forged in our shop from rod and plate; left bare, the metal settles into a warm living patina, or we set its finish — polished, brushed, or antiqued. Underfoot, Calacatta from the Carrara quarries lays a bright white ground veined in grey and gold, the slabs sequenced so the figure runs continuously up the sweep of the stair. No veneer, no laminate, no composite — every surface is the material itself.

The Curved collection is commissioned most often for centre-hall homes and formal foyers — houses that receive, where the stair is the first thing a guest sees. A curve softens the room around it: sightlines bend rather than stop, light travels along the mahogany rail through the day, and solid stone and hardwood keep footfall quiet. It is also among the few renovations a future buyer notices from the front door. We work across Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, and the wider GTA. Most commissions run six to ten weeks from the complimentary in-home consultation to the installed staircase — fully insured, WSIB covered, and backed by a one-year workmanship warranty.
